Where did you get your dining table from? And we’re not asking from which retailer, we mean, where did the wood come from? How was it sourced? Is it PEFC* certified?

If you purchased from Focus on Furniture’s Australian hardwood collections, you can rest assured that these timber collections have been sourced from sustainable managed forests, under the direction of the Victorian Government’s forest manager.

Australian messmate is a distinctive hardwood grown naturally in the vibrant forests of Victoria and Tasmania. The diverse gum veins are prominent features adding plenty of character. Shop the Daylesford, Rocco, Archie, Kennedy and Yarra ranges.

Tasmanian oak has been sustainably harvested from Australia’s southern-most forests for over two centuries. It’s warm, dense and resilient, making it a favourite hard-wearing, durable timber. Shop the Chevron, Barossa and Heyfield ranges.

Wormy chestnut features individual gum veins and prominent makings affected by nature’s elements such as wildfire, drought and insects. Shop the Orbost and Belgrave ranges.

*PEFC - The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization which promotes sustainable forest management through independent third party certification.

Melissa advises also adding pops of colour to mark the changing season, “Inspire creativity and add a bit of decorative flair to your sofa or bed. Add patterned scatter cushions with vibrant colours or a pretty textured throw. It will make an impact and give a fresh new look to celebrate the warmer months ahead.”

“Artwork is also a great way to freshen up a space and really add some personality to your home,” said Melissa.
